#MauiStrong: Two Years Later

Today, we mark two years since the Maui wildfires—a time that forever impacted our island and our people. August 8, 2023, remains a solemn reminder of what was lost, but also a powerful testament to the strength and spirit of our Maui ʻohana.

Over these two years, we’ve continued to honor those we lost, support those still healing, and stand with those working tirelessly to rebuild. Through every challenge, our community has shown unwavering resilience, compassion, and unity. We’ve witnessed the unwavering spirit of our people—neighbors helping neighbors, volunteers showing up day after day, and entire communities rising to support one another.

To the heroes, first responders, caregivers, community leaders, and neighbors who have supported us; your strength and compassion have carried us forward. While the journey of recovery is ongoing, so too is our commitment to one another.

We are not just rebuilding our homes—we are restoring hope, preserving culture, and reinforcing the soul of Maui. Here's to Lahaina, Kula, and every corner of our island that continues to stand strong, united, and full of aloha.
