As the one-year mark approaches since the devastating wildfires that impacted our cherished island on August 8, 2023, we invite you to come together with us in remembrance and celebration of the Maui community's incredible strength and unity. Kuhinia Maui has planned a series of special events to honor those who were affected and to celebrate the enduring spirit that binds us all.

Starting tomorrow, the County of Maui will be hosting a variety of events that provide opportunities to reflect on our shared experiences and support ongoing recovery efforts. Activities will include memorial services, community clean-ups, cultural exhibitions, and workshops focused on resilience and rebuilding.

Our journey over the past year has been marked by extraordinary acts of kindness, courage, and community support. The way we have rallied around each other truly embodies the spirit of aloha. These upcoming events are a tribute to our collective resilience and the power of standing together as a community.

We hope you will join us as we gather to remember our past, cherish our present, and cultivate hope for the future. Let’s come together to heal and continue strengthening the bonds that make Maui Nui a special place.
